We do our best to use locally grown sources for all of our pies, and that means that during the fall and winter months it can be hard to obtain certain fruits and berries. To ensure the best quality we want to make sure we're using the freshest berries possible, which is why we only provide these pies during their fruit’s best harvest time.
Hood Strawberries referred to the strawberries specifically grown near Mt. Hood. They are sweeter than most strawberries and they have a very short time frame for when they are available. Their harvest time is in early spring and only lasts for two or three weeks of the year. Although our Hood Strawberry Pie is a local favorite it can be hard to get your hands on, we understand that is frustrating to not be able to pre-order one. We do this to ensure everyone has a chance to try this local favorite.
Bart’s weekly special are pie flavors that Bart is experimenting with. These recipes are taste tested to ensure the best and sweetest quality. When Bart is ready to share the experience, he brings them out as a weekly special. To find what the weekly special pie is, please check our Facebook page. If you end up finding one you can’t live without, let Bart know. With lots of good feedback your flavor could be added to the list of pies.
After you’ve placed an order, you will pick up your pie at your choice of location. If you’re heading to our homebase stand in North Plains, please bring cash or a check, made out to The Pie Guy. If you’re heading to one of the farmers’ markets just walk up and tell us your name. Your pie will be waiting, but please remember that pies not picked up at the correct time or place will be found a new home… or plate.
We are located in the Pacific Northwest, and that means a lot of rain. Our farmers’ markets are only open during the late Spring, Summer, and early Fall months. However, our North Plains stand, and our Forest Grove stand run all year long.
